We’re excited to announce that The Cavendish School, the world’s first International Baccalaureate (IB) special autism school is officially set to open on the outskirts of Cambridge in Autumn 2021. Based in Impington, The Cavendish School will also be Cambridgeshire’s first state maintained special free school provision for young people with autism.
Join the virtual launch taking place via Zoom on Wednesday 21 October at 6pm, to meet the school team, hear about the school’s journey to date, key updates on plans for the school, what lies ahead of the opening next year and, most importantly, get answers to any questions you may have. Joining the launch and answering your questions will be:
- Ryan Kelsall, Deputy CEO of The Learning Alliance
- Leah Cooper, Assistant Principal for SEND/PP and SENCo at the co-located Impington Village College, currently seconded to The Cavendish School
- Julie Bailey, Chair of Governors at The Cavendish School and doctoral researcher in the Faculty of Education at the University of Cambridge
Please click here to register your place at the launch event; Zoom joining details will be emailed to registered attendees before the event.
If you would like to submit any questions, please do so by emailing by Tuesday 20 October. There will be the opportunity on the night to take live questions through the chat functionality, however, to manage expectations the team may not be able to answer them all due to time restrictions.
If you are unable to make the event but would still like more information, please let us know and we will ensure that you receive a recording of the event once it has taken place.
We hope that you can join us at the launch later this month.
If you know of any families in the community who may be interested in finding out more about The Cavendish School, please share the above information with them.
